Ardclough travelled to Maynooth, but were outshone by their youthful  hosts for large part of this game. By half-time Maynooth had built an eight point lead, helped by the two goals they earned, while Ardclough full-forward Padraic O’Malley also found the net for his team.

Ardclough vastly improved in the second half and hit nine points in the thirty minues. Ardclough’s effort were such that with ten minutes they had the gap down to just two points.

Maynooth though just pulled away again and their six second half points were more than enough to seal victory and and keep them top of the table, having won all their games so far.

Best for Ardclough were John Burke, Jonathan Reeves, David Collins, Mark Lynam and Paul Hogan. While Maynooth’s Seán Higgins, Graham Kenny, Éanna Lohan and Mark Cummins stood out for the winners.
