As the evenings get darker, we are getting near the end of our GAA year. We are at the semi final or final stages in most competitions and our Go Games matches will finish at the end of October.

Since our last club notes, we received the very sad and unexpected news of the passing of our coaching officer and treasured friend Noel O’Sullivan. The sideline for the last few games has not been the same and never will be. We will miss him dearly.

Juvenile Teams

As always there has been huge activity going on around the club.

Hard luck to our U16 hurlers who lost by 3 points in extra time to Maynooth in their division 1 shield semifinal.

Our U14 B Championship team are through to a semi-final on Tuesday 21st having beaten Celbridge and with Maynooth conceded their re-fixed fixture they finish top of their group. Hard luck to our C Championship U14 team who lost to Confey in their shield semi-final – a big step up from division 4 which they won in the spring and will stand to them next year.

Not only do we have the best teams.. but we have the best supporters , some of our younger club members and Celbridge friends ! watching on at the U14 hurling match between Ardclough and Celbridge.

Our 2 U12 teams have had lots of games, and their rounds are now concluded. Our A championship team beat Maynooth in their last game to get a home semi-final next Friday 24th against St Coca’s.

And our U12 C Championship team lost their last game to Clane concluding their round. Again, as with our U14s, a big step up for the team to play C Championship having won division 4 in the spring , great experience for the team who will play the U12 competition next year .

In football our Edwards teams have also reached the end of their rounds.

Our U16 C championship team reached a shield semi final and our G team have qualified for a shield final against Leixlip in Manguard tomorrow. Best of luck

Our U14 teams played some great football with the B and H championship teams reaching shield finals which will be played next weekend.

And our U12 teams have played all their round games with the A championship team through to a shield final on the bank holiday Monday. Our H team despite scoring 5-8 lost to Maynooth narrowly 8-2 , hard luck lads

As always there are blitzs and games going on all the time . Our U13 hurlers were invited to the Larry Hayes Memorial Tournament at the end of September , a fabulous day out for the team playing Killenaule and Taghmon- Camross.

Our U11 hurlers hosted Myshall and Ballinteer for a blitz last Sunday and our U10s travelled to Kilmacud Crokes at the end of September for their blitz in UCD , great days out

Cumann na mBunscoil

Well done to the U11 boys playing in the football and hurling in St Anne’s National School who during the week lifted both trophies . And special mention to the amazing U11 girls team who fought hard against Mercy Convent Naas losing by a point in the camogie semi-final. And who played some fantastic football in their group stages.

It was great to see so many Ardclough hurlers and camogs taking part both for St Anne’s and Rathmore and Kill schools with our own Ella Mai Kelly making it to the division 2 final for Kill.
