23rd February @ Ardclough
U-12 Div.2 Football League
Ardclough 6-04
Naas 4-09
Ardclough opened their U-12 Div.2 football league campaign with a one point win in a ten goal thriller at home on Saturday (23rd Feb).
The game was originally fixed for Naas, but switched to Ardclough due to an unavailability of pitches.
Ardclough did well in the first half despite a lot of good Naas attacks. The ‘Clough’s first score was a goal by Drew Costello which was followed by a Pat Taaffe point.
Naas managed 1-06 for themselves in the first half and just before half time Jamie Clyne was on hand to finish the ball to the net for Ardclough’s 2nd goal to cut the gap to two points.

Naas 1-06
Ardclough 2-01
Ardclough upped their efforts in the second half and went about building a lead.
Another Costello goal, followed by two Luke O’Brien goals and another green flag raised by Cody Courtney Cross gave Ardclough great hope of a win.
And after Jamie Clyne (2) and Costello added further points Ardclough looked set for victory.
But the final five minutes were very tense however as Naas tried to fight back and narrow the gap, but great effort from the team saw the defence hold out to claim a one point win.
