U-12 football league div.3
Ardclough 4-06
Naas 2-08
Ardclough claimed the U-12 division 3 football league title after completing their campaign unbeaten.
Ardclough faced Naas in the final game and got off to a great start with a point from Drew Costello from the throw in.
Naas replied quickly after with a 1-01, only for the ‘Clough’s to reply with two Jamie Clyne points.
Naas then gained some momentum and tagged on four more points in a row approaching the break, despite the efforts of Ardclough full-back Eimhin O’Neill.
Ardclough kept themselves in the game with two late first half scores. Firstly a point from Craig Hanly, followed by a Luke O’Brien point to leave the hosts trailing by the minimum at half-time.
Naas restarted strongly and had 1-01 past the Ardclough defence after 5 minutes.
Ardclough didn’t panic though and continue to play their own game.
Drew Costello got another goal after quick thinking from a free kick and Cody Courtney Cross added a point soon after.
With fifteen minutes left Ardclough still trailed by two points but another Costello goal grabbed the lead for them.
Ardclough built on their newly gotten lead to push on for the remainder of the half. A Courtney Cross goal and a pointed free from Jamie Clyne sealed the match and the league title after a very enjoyable match.
