IHC Round 1
6th July @ Sarsfields
Ardclough’s opening game of the Intermediate A Hurling Championship has fallen foul of the weather. The Rd.1 game scheduled away to Newbridge Sarsfields, against the hosts, was deferred after a pitch inspection by the referee Liam McCarthy, who deemed the pitch unplayable.
Despite the majority of the pitch being in immaculate condition, the referee decided there were too many pockets of water throughout the field to allow the game to be played.
There was disappointment all round, as both teams had made their way to the venue and Ardclough had begun to warm-up when the referee indicated that the game would not go ahead. And this game will now have to be re-fixed.
