SHL Round 3
24th May @ Donore
Ardclough 0-13 Éire Óg C.C. 0-08

Ardclough claimed their first win of the Senior Hurling League with a five point away win against Éire Óg Corra Choill.

Ardclough played without county-player Martin Fitzgerald, but did have the benefit of Richie Hoban and Paul Fitzgerald returning to club action. The pair starting in the SHL for the first time in this campaign, having recently won the National Hurling League division 2B title with Kildare.

The ‘Clough’s started well and took an early five point lead. Éire Óg C.C. also started without young forward Evan Dempsey, but did have Paul Dermody between the sticks. The county keeper was kept busy throughout, and kept the visitors goalless.

At the half-time break, Ardclough had preserved their early five-point lead, leading 0-08 to 0-03.

That early 5-point cushion for Ardclough became vital as they ended the game with the same lead.
