As we approach the end of 2025, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our members, sponsors, supporters, friends and the wider community in Ardclough a very happy Christmas and a peaceful new year.
At our AGM in November we reflected on our progress on and off the pitch in 2025. Lots of highlights throughout the year with close to 300 official fixtures played from U12 to Adult across our 4 codes , silverware in adult and juvenile competitions, Go Games every weekend, blitz days home and away, days out like our Hell and Back, Trip to Croker and Emerald Park.
Off the field we had a great year in Scór, we started our Green Club journey and Dermot Earley Initiative and we provided cardiac screening for our young members with the Dillon Quirke Foundation. Our players continue to represent the club with pride in their school competitions participating and winning in Cumann na mBunscoil and we are very lucky to have fantastic support and relationship with our local school with principal Dominic Tyrrell and his staff and Emmet our GPO.
Our county senior mens teams had a great year winning the Tailteann and Joe MacDonagh Cups , and we had a number of players selected for county panels across all ages.
We had some celebrations and great nights out that raised much needed funds for the club with our Punchestown Race Night, our Golf Day and a first for the club with our Christmas Draw Night. We also celebrated our Junior Football Jubilee team from 2000, hosted the Phyllis Finneran Cup with the Finneran family and the Liam Hogan Cup with the Hogan family as we remember and celebrate those that gave so much to the club. And we finished the year with our awards nights, great evenings celebrating.
A huge thank you to everyone who has helped and supported the club in 2025. It has been a busy year of pitch maintenance, pitch bookings, running our fundraising events, our weekly lotto, coaching and travelling around Kildare to represent the club. We deeply appreciate the effort and time given by everyone in our club; every contribution, no matter how big or small, is essential to making our club what it is today. Our weekly club notes gives a small insight into the fantastic work going on around the club.
With 2 sleeps to go until the big day, we hope our younger members are excited for Christmas. We all know that Santa himself is big fan of Ardclough GAA and that all the boys and girls have been amazing all year.
Finally, at this time of the year our thoughts turn to those members and supporters who cannot make it back home this Christmas and to those no longer with us. May we find comfort in their memories and hold them dear this Christmas.
We hope everyone enjoys Christmas and we look forward to your continued support in 2026. We have entertainment in the clubhouse on St Stephens Day and our opening hours are on Clubzap, we look forward to seeing you all over the festive period and on a sideline in 2026.
