We reach the conclusion of the 2025 season this weekend as our U23 St Edwards footballers take to the field on Saturday in their final. There’s an air of things winding down with the County Convention taking place this week. Our U14 St Edwards team continue their Wednesday winter gym sessions and finish up next week.

Kildare County Convention – Monday, December 8th
The Kildare County Convention took place on Monday , with the Tailteann Cup and Joe McDonagh on display after a great year for Kildare Football and Hurling. The club extended our thanks to Christine Murray who has completed her 5 year term as Secretary. Christine has been a huge help to us over her term and we wish her all the best. We look forward to working with Lorraine Woulfe who was appointed on the night and the Kildare Executive as we look forward to another great year in Kildare.
Executive Commitee – Tuesday, December 9th
Our Executive Committee had their first meeting of the new term , and while our amazing Comms Officer has great ideas about bringing Santa hats , she definitely didn’t get out of getting in the pic :)

Seniors Christmas Party – Sunday, December 14th
We are delighted to host with the Community Council our annual seniors Christmas Party. Thanks to all involved in organising and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Clubhouse Christmas – Opening Hours
We look forward to welcoming all our members to the clubhouse over the festive season with our Christmas Draw on December 20th and DJ on the night, Annual Married v Singles game on St Stephens day followed by music in the lounge, keep an eye on our socials over the festive season.
Don’t forget its not Christmas until the darts start ! The World Darts Championship 2026 started last night and there will be racing from Leopardstown , and all the premier league soccer until we get the GAA back in January. At least we have the Club semi-finals and Finals to keep us going
Juvenile Hurling Awards – December 6th
What a great night on Saturday as we hosted our Juvenile Hurling Awards with special guest Liam Cahill. Keep an eye out in the Liffey Champion next week for some pics of the night courtesy of our amazing photographer Bridie Maughan.
Specially noteworthy was the moments silence in the Leinster Club Hurling final for our Noel , observed by all in the clubhouse. He would have thoroughly enjoyed the night of the awards.

Our last game of 2025 !! Best of luck to our St Edwards U23 footballers who play Castlemitchell in the final on Saturday at 4pm in Manguard Hawkfield.
County Teams
We are so proud of all our young members who represent their county.
Huge well done to Elwood McGreal who was a member of the Kildare U15 hurling team who brought home the Central U15 Regional Hurling Shield. The competition ran over the past six weeks at the Carlow Centre of Excellence, where the team faced strong opposition from teams from Kilkenny and Carlow
Well done to Issey Kelly who was selected for the Kildare LFGA Minors in 2026 !
And well done to Emma, Ruby and Lily for being selected for the Kildare Camogie Minors in 2026 !
