EASTER CAMP 2025
Very exciting week for the boys and girls in the Easter Camp next week. Starts Tuesday at 10am. We hope for good weather and lots of fun, friends and sport ! Best of luck to all the boys and girls.
On the pitch
We were delighted to have 2 new referees helping us last weekend for their first games.
It’s really simple – if we don’t have referees we don’t have games.
Any of our club members who are 15+ are eligible to ref on completion of the online course below. They can then start to referee the younger age groups like U7 / U8 games to give them some confidence before moving to older age groups.
We have a fantastic group of young referees in our club who give back to their club and earn some money for themselves each weekend. We are always in need of more!
Once complete, the parent of the child completing the course should email secretary.ardclough.kildare@gaa.ie to be added to our Young Whistlers Group where information about matches and requests for referees are posted.
Last Friday saw a double header for our U12s who had a mixed night with a win in D4 against Leixlip and a loss in D1 to Maynooth. Most importantly it was great to see the two teams out playing and the skills and teamwork were fantastic.

Super Saturday for our younger footballers – U7 footballers travelled to Cappagh, our U9s went to Naas and our U11s were in Celbridge.

Then on Sunday our U8 hurlers hosted Rathangan and Coill Dubh, great photo of the groups below – what it’s all about making friends and having fun, while ourr U10 hurlers played Leixlip at 11.
And over on the main pitch we had these superstars playing 3 Naas teams over the morning at their U10 blitz

Over in Sallins at the same time, our U16 St Patrick’s hurlers came away with a win against Clane which leaves them 3rd in the table and one game left against Broadford next week.
Back to football during the week then for our U16 footballers with our D7 Edward’s team getting a conceded game from Celbridge and our D3 getting a win against Rathangan. Again one game to play for them as they sit 4th in the table. And two more rounds for our D7 team.
Really busy Wednesday saw our U14 hurlers travel to Rathangan and secure a win, unbeaten so far in D2 they have a local derby in 2 weeks with Celbridge for their last game. Our D4 team have a few more games left but also play Celbridge on the 27th.
Coming up this weekend
Best of luck to all the teams playing, we have a quiet start to the week with Easter meaning most games are cancelled, none scheduled or refixed.
Our U12 St Edwards’ boys are out this evening – hopefully the rain stops for them ! We also have U16 Edwards and St Patricks scheduled for this week. Our D3 Senior Hurlers play St Laurence’s away on Tuesday, U12 hurlers are back out this week against St Coca’s – D1 on Wednesday and D4 on Friday. Our Senior Footballers are away to Ballymore Eustace on Friday night.

At the end of February this year we were delighted, following our application, to be accepted onto the GAA Green Clubs Programme. To achieve our Green Club status we must complete 2 initiatives from the following areas: Water, Energy, Biodiversity, Waste & Travel and follow and track a number of milestones.
We are now at the Club & Community Mapping stage and are asking our Club Members to complete the survey below.
The survey is made up of four questions and is designed to find out what Green Club areas and actions the wider club membership is interested in as well as to identify if any other club members would be interested in getting involved.
https://forms.office.com/e/TJpKx4fkkn
Thank you for taking the time to complete and we will leave the survey open until 25th April.
