In the Lounge
We had a good crowd in for Ireland’s opening 6 Nation game v France. Great to see everyone there, not the result we wanted but plenty more rugby and sport on this weekend ! Tonight we have the opening of the Winter Olympics – time to “brush up” on your curling rules and your quadruple axels for the figure skating ! We’ll be experts before the weekend is out !
On Saturday we have 6 Nations games – Italy v Scotland at 14.10 , and England v Wales at 16.40.
For GAA we have so much action – Saturday Waterford v Dublin in Ladies Football on TG4 start us off, with Wexford playing Carlow at 5.15pm on TG4 and then big hurling game of the night Cork v Tipperary at 7.30pm on RTE2. Then Sunday Waterford v Offaly starts us off at 1.45pm on TG4 , Kildare v Antrim is live on TG4 App if you can’t make it to Conleth’s for 2pm and then final game is Limerick v Kilkenny on TG4 at 3.45pm.
All sports are live in the Clubhouse – including all the premier league soccer. Pop in and enjoy a Firestone Pizza while you are there.

On the pitch
It’s so good to be back ! Our hurlers and camogs were back on Sundays, our U11 – U9 footballers were back Wednesday, Straffard back next Monday the 9th – its all go !
Straffard Visit of Sam Maguire
Our U13 & U12 Straffard teams had a visit from Sam Maguire at their 5k training on Saturday morning
Best of luck to the two teams as they run the Rathcoffey 5k on Sunday at 11am and well done on all the training every Monday and Saturday
Trip to Dublin for our young Hurlers
Our U9 hurlers travelled to St Vincents last Saturday for 2 fantastic games of hurling. Lovely hospitality by the St Vincent’s parents to welcome all the the kids and parents into the clubhouse after for some tea and sandwiches. Then a quick chipper and it was off to Parnell Park to meet up with the U12 & U11 hurlers to see Dublin v Kildare – with the loudest cheer on the night for our own Tim Ryan coming on right in front of our players- Ardclough Abú

1968 Legends League
Our U9 & U8 hurlers have combined together to play a 1968 Legends League ! Absolutely amazing skills from these young players.
The league runs every Sunday at 11am for the next 2 Sundays – with a final on the 1st March – all welcome to support them
Noel Burke Cup 2026
Our Juvenile Hurling pre-season competition returned on Sunday with a fiercely contested first round. Tipperary took the win in the first game against Kildare ..by a point ! And in the 2nd game Kilkenny led at half time before a come back from a determined Cork team saw them win by 5 points.
We are already looking forward to next Sunday – again all support welcome – games throw in at 1pm and 2 pm with Kilkenny v Kildare at 1pm and Tipperary v Cork at 2pm
Juvenile Football
Our footballers returned on Wednesday night with our U11 , U10 and U9s braving the cold. Hopefully we’ll have our pitches open soon , we can’t wait to see everyone back.
Mothers and Others – New Members Welcome
Our amazing Mothers and Others group are looking for new members – see poster below for all details. Non Competitive LGFA for over 25s who want to get active and learn a new skill.

Kildare
Our LGFA team are away this week in their 3rd fixture of the league v Galway in Tuam Stadium. Throw in at 2pm
And our hurlers face Antrim in St Conleth’s Park on Sunday at 2pm. Great news earlier today that both Tim Ryan and Sean Whelan are on the panel for 2026 , best of luck to them both and Richie.
